EEG Testing
An EEG (electroencephalogram) test is ordered if you or your child has had a seizure, think they may be having seizures or other possible abnormal brain activity. The results of an EEG will help doctors when they are making a diagnosis or decisions about other medical testing or treatment.
ABOUT US
Dr. Andrew McIntosh, M.D. is Board-Certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from California State University at Long Beach, Dr. McIntosh took a position at Fairview Developmental Center working with neurodevelopmentally disabled children and adults. Inspired by mentors such as Dr. Jerome S. Tobis, M.D., Dr. McIntosh went on to earn a Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Ponce School of Medicine.
After Medical School, he completed a comprehensive five-year postdoctoral program at the University of California, Irvine including Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine residency and General Adult Neurology Internship. He received further sub-specialty training as a Pediatric Neurology Fellow at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. McIntosh has been awarded membership in The American Academy of Neurology, The Child Neurology Society, The American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the Medical Staff at Children's Hospital of Orange County.
